Before I introduce myself and the LP team, I would first like to thank you for stopping in to check us out. If you've been following us or are a new visitor and have no idea who we are, thanks for taking a chance with us!
My name is Jesse Wayne Beckham. I started making leather goods in the Fall of 2012 while I was in Graduate school. I have always had an attraction to leather goods and took a leap into the craft on a whim. I thought I could build a weekender duffel bag and being in grad school, I didn't really have the expendable income to buy one. Little did I know, I would be well in over my head trying to attempt a duffel bag as a first project.
I ordered a few rudimentary hand tools off ebay and lit off on a learning, frustrating, and fascinating adventure.
I will follow up on the duffle bag project, my early tools and what I learned and how on later blog entries.
So, who is LP? We are made up of myself, Jesse, my wife Jayme, our 2 year old son Lincoln, and our shop pup Anja the German Shepherd. We can often be found in our shop; myself working my sewing machine or cutting leather for projects. Jayme is usually chasing after Lincoln who just wants to help out so badly, and of course Anja chasing Jayme and Lincoln to keep them in check. When Lincoln isn't running amuck, Jayme handles a lot of the photography, customer relations, and is the better salesman between us ( I think its because shes a lot prettier than I am)!
Being together in the shop is something that we all love to do. I love working with leather and the shop is my 'happy place.' When we can all work together, it is that much better.
Also, this is my first ever blog entry, I hope it isn't too all over the place. Thank you all for checking us out, and keep an eye out for great things to come.
