About LP

Jesse Wayne Beckham and his wife Jayme Dianne are Lost Penguin Leather. They are the owners and creators of handmade leather goods based out of Wichita Falls, Texas. Making usable goods for daily use.
Why Lost Penguin? We all feel a little lost from time to time, but feel good knowing that you aren't as lost as a Penguin in Texas.

Jesse grew up around farm and ranch in  small town North Texas and spent most weekends of his youth along his father's side, on horseback while working cattle  with his uncle. Here, he earned an admiration and respect for fine leather goods, in that situation the importance of quality saddlery as a usable tool. Jump forward 15-20 years and he found himself needing some quality leather goods, this time in a university setting. He purchased some materials and began working leather as a way to afford a nice leather weekend bag for a broke college student. From there, the passion grew and launched him into a craft that has brought him here today, creating usable, durable leather goods.
Jayme, on the other hand, was a city girl from Arlington, TX, whom Jesse somehow convinced to love him. They dated all through college (including Grad school) and were married in 2014. They now have a 3 year old son, Lincoln, and a German Shepherd Anja. Jayme can be found in the shop helping with shipping, photography, video, or simply moral support. Lincoln on the other hand, can oftentimes be found shoppin' (working in the shop) with dad, hammering, sweeping, or telling Jesse how to do things!
